Offer your customers the best algae defense and warranty on the market by becoming a 3M Scotchgard Protector Shingle Sales Specialist.

The 3M Scotchgard Protector Shingle Sales Specialist training program gives you the insight you need to sell premium roof shingles with the trusted Scotchgard brand.

“Contractors are a homeowner’s direct line to learning about roofing solutions for their home,” says Stan Bastek, vice president of sales and marketing for Atlas Roofing. “Our AtlasPRO+™ contractors are always looking for a way to differentiate themselves, and the sales specialist program is a great way to do so. This 3M program gives our contractors the selling tools they need to be successful while building their credibility with homeowners.”

Confidence in Atlas products is a big part of why roofing contractors are participating in the sales specialist program.

“I’m proud to be associated with national brands like Atlas and 3M,” says Roger Worley of Roger Worley Jr. Construction in Franklinville, NJ. “The partnership of these two companies to use Scotchgard Protector is very beneficial to my homeowners. I’m confident in recommending these shingles because I know that Atlas and 3M stand behind their products.”

Learn & Earn

The sales specialist program includes a series of four e-learning modules in which 3M experts explain the origins of black streaks in roofing, how algae thrive and the science behind copper ions — the basis of algae-resistant technology.

Learn how to identify the black streaks caused by algae and how they differ from other roofing issues. The program also includes an initial call with an Atlas sales manager, as well as ongoing support and communication.

Scotchgard Protector Shingle Sales Specialist training provides guidelines for best practices regarding customer communication and value-solution selling. Real-world scenarios help reinforce the training and give you the techniques you need to offer homeowners a solution to the ugly black streaks caused by algae.

When you complete the 3M Scotchgard Protector Shingles Sales Specialist training program, you’ll receive a supporting sales package from 3M. Use these bonus tools to help grow your business by demonstrating the value of Atlas shingles with Scotchgard Protector.

Lasting Curb Appeal

A roof can make up nearly 50 percent of a home’s exterior and is a key factor in its curb appeal. Black streaks on shingles can diminish the home’s overall appearance.

HOLMES Approved Atlas shingles with Scotchgard Protector contain a minimum 10 percent blend of copper granules evenly distributed across each shingle, including hip and ridge shingles. The manufacturing process is verified by third-party tests, which is only one of many prerequisites required to bear the Scotchgard brand name.

HOLMES Approved

Competitors’ algae-resistant shingles average between 2 and 5 percent copper. Also, competitors do not necessarily add granules to every shingle, which can create a checkerboard-like pattern on a roof.

“I’ve been doing roofing for 15 years and I didn’t know that the granule distribution was so important to the lifetime of the actual roof color,” says Shane LaBlanc of Ducote Roofing and Construction in Maurice, LA. “Through a simple video provided by 3M, I can show my customers that our roof systems are truly the best. I’ve always loved installing Atlas shingles. This is a great way to boost sales and look better than my competitors.”

The Scotchgard Protector feature is available in Atlas Roofing’s StormMaster® Slate, StormMaster® Shake, Pinnacle® Pristine and Legend® shingle lines. Eligible for the Atlas Signature Select® Roofing System, these Scotchgard shingles help to maintain a roof’s beauty and preserve a home’s value for years.
