Atlas recently invited several roofing partners to its Franklin (OH) plant for a personal tour of the facility, where contractors and other industry pros got an up-close view of the shingle-manufacturing process.
"Me being newer in the roofing industry, I was just trying to be a sponge, taking it all in," said Bryan Woods, director of sales and operations for Wagner Metals Roofing & Construction Solutions, which has two locations in Ohio (Defiance and Troy), as well as one in St. Louis, MO.
"Actually seeing from the ground up how a shingle's made — not just seeing a diagram online or hearing the rest of my company talk about it, but seeing the process [with my own eyes] — was very interesting," he added.
